For most people Boavista is known for perfect sunny white sand beaches that stretch for kilometers with no one around. For fishermen and marine scientists however Boavista is known for being a biodiversity hotspot filled with marine life and big game fish. Its geographic location in the middle of the Atlantic with a rich upwelling system and a favorable bathymetry have made it an truly underwater paradise that has not been targeted by industrial large scale fisheries yet!
